Subdomains

This section lists the subdomains WebPixie has found for the analyzed domain, based on certificate data. Subdomains often serve separate parts of a site, such as an API, an admin panel, or a content delivery network.

Subdomain List

This section displays all detected subdomains.

Each row represents a subdomain.

Example:

api.example.com
admin.example.com
cdn.example.com
mail.example.com

Each subdomain in the list was seen in certificate data, so it may not be in use today.

Add as Site

With the Add Site button next to each subdomain, you can add that subdomain as a monitored site. The add-site form opens with the subdomain already filled in. If the subdomain is already one of your sites, the button reads View Site and opens it instead.

Once added, you can enable checks such as SSL, domain, and DNS monitoring for the subdomain, like for any other site.

Importance of Subdomain Analysis

Detecting subdomains is useful for:

• discovering subdomains you may not know about
• spotting forgotten or unexpected subdomains
• adding a subdomain as a site to monitor it

This helps users keep track of the subdomains under their domain.
