Access and Permissions
Choose the workspaces an assistant can reach, set read-only or read and write access, and narrow it to specific sites and uptime monitors.
When you connect an assistant, WebPixie shows a consent screen. You decide what the assistant can see and whether it can change anything. The assistant gets only what you approve.
What You Choose
- Workspaces: all of your workspaces, including ones you join later, or a selection.
- Access mode: for each workspace, read-only or read and write.
- Scope: for each workspace, you can narrow access to specific sites and uptime monitors instead of everything in it.
With read-only access, the assistant can read your data but cannot change anything. It does not see the tools that make changes, so it does not offer actions it cannot take.
With read and write access, it can create, update, pause, resume, or delete uptime monitors, add, update, or remove sites, and add notes to incidents. Before deleting anything, the assistant is instructed to tell you what will be deleted and wait for your confirmation.
Your Role Still Applies
An assistant acts with your role in each workspace and cannot do more than you can. Changing data requires the Owner or Admin role. With the User role, an assistant can only read.
Account, billing, and team management are not available to assistants. Do these in the WebPixie dashboard.
Changing Access Later
To change what an assistant can reach, connect it again. When you approve the same assistant again, WebPixie updates its existing connection instead of adding a second one, and replaces the workspaces and access you chose before.
Removing Access
A screen in the WebPixie dashboard for viewing and removing assistant connections is coming soon. Until then, contact us if you need a connection removed. Removing a connection stops the assistant from using your workspaces on its next request.
