Add Uptime
Creating an uptime monitor in WebPixie allows you to regularly check the availability and performance of a website.
By creating an uptime monitor for a URL they want to track, users can monitor the operational status, response times, and potential outages of their sites.
How to Create an Uptime Monitor?
There are two ways to create an uptime monitor in WebPixie.
Creating a Monitor from the Uptime Page
Users can create a new monitor directly from the Uptime page.
Steps to follow:
- Go to the Uptime page from the left menu
- Click the Add button
- Enter the URL you want to monitor
-
Configure uptime settings
- Complete the monitor creation
After the monitor is created, WebPixie will automatically start checking the site at the specified intervals.
Creating a Monitor from the Site Detail Page
You can also add an uptime monitor directly from the site detail page for a site that is already being tracked in WebPixie.
This method allows you to quickly start uptime monitoring for an existing site.
Steps to follow:
- Open one of the tracked sites
- Go to the site detail page
- Use the Add Uptime option
-
Configure uptime settings
- Complete the monitor creation
After this process, the uptime monitor will be activated for the relevant site.
After Creating a Monitor
Once an uptime monitor is created, WebPixie initiates the following process:
- The monitor is saved to the system database
- The first check task is added to the scheduler
- The system schedules check tasks according to the defined intervals
- Checks are performed by probe services in different locations
- Results are analyzed and recorded in the system
- If the site is inaccessible, an incident is automatically created
